Part 1: Kinds of friendships
As spices are to food, friendships are to life. Friendships make life much richer and really much sweeter!
Friendships come in all shapes, sizes and forms. They appear, disappear and reappear. They give us acceptance, comfort, understanding, hope, strength, courage, laughter and fun. We need to understand that no one person will ever fill all our needs (ONLY Jesus can do this) We just need to accept what they have to give and enjoy it.
I think about Molly. We had a really fun friendship when our kids were young. I really did treasure her as a good friend. She moved to Arizona and within a couple of months we totally lost touch. I was sad about that. But the reality was, I didn’t know really know what was going on in her world in the years following her move. Years later she reappeared and she shared what had happened. Our friendship reconnected right then and there….Don't ever give up on friendship. You just never know what is coming next in life…..
Cindy has been a constant in my life for the last 30 years. We have done everything together….from church, ministry events, girl scout leaders, showers, weddings, taught together, volunteered together…you get the point. We might talk 3xs a day and then go a couple of weeks without talking. We have had misunderstandings and hurt each others feelings through the years, but we apologize , forgive and move on. I believe we both sharpened each other to be our best self…. Friends like Cindy take time. It's the history that creates the bond that turns you into family.

What did 2020 teach me?
Wow what an amazing question. Usually we are looking forward, setting goals, and dreaming about the new year, but taking a look back at 2020 is a great idea. Thank you, Cindy, for coming up with such a terrific topic to discuss.
We all have personal stories of WHAT happened in 2020, but what did I learn?
2020 taught me to question EVERYTHING. Nothing seemed to be making sense and being a skeptical person, I wanted to find out why and I believe that I found that out through hundreds of hours of research. I just wanted the truth. I would encourage you to do your own research if things aren't making sense to you.
2020 taught me that we must ask God in faith for WISDOM….. wisdom is a God given and God centered discernment regarding the practical issues of life. "a double minded man is unstable in all his ways". James.1:5-8
2020 taught me that we were not made to social distance. He built us to befriend one another and care for one another and ultimately to fellowship with Him. If you read the book of Philippians in the Bible it encourages us to live out our lives in commitment to God and one another. Give that book a read.
In closing The ultimate TRUTH is Jesus Himself. John 14:6 “Jesus said unto him, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me’”. If you don’t have a relationship with God you can through his son Jesus who died for your sins on the cross and raised from the dead to conquer sin and death. Pray to him and confess that you are a sinner and tell him you receive his free gift of salvation, Then You can know for sure that you are bound for heaven and eternity with Him who loves you so much. John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have everlasting life.”
Cheers, Molly
